Shot in London and Birmingham, Michael worked with our fab stylists, Ellie Tobin (HMU) and Alice Timms (Styling), to produce these fantastic shots. We think they make a stellar team!

Back in August last year, we blogged about a travel feature Michael Heffernan had been commissioned for at a secret location in the UK.
The location was a little hush hush as we had to wait for the shoot to be published but we can now reveal that the images were shot in the Channel Islands and are featured in the May 2013 issue of Lonely Planet Traveller Magazine.

LPA photographer, Michael Heffernan, was recently commissioned to photograph and film sportswear brand, Luta’s latest collection.
The socially responsible label is known for it’s tough, no nonsense reputation so an old disused warehouse, with it’s peeling walls and flooded floors, provided the perfect location for the shoot. Combined with some very athletic models, Michael’s stills and moving image have a fantastic gritty real feel.
Half of all profits made by Luta go to Fight for Peace, a global non-profit organisation supporting thousands of young people in communities affected by crime and violence all over the world – so be inspired, go buy a tracksuit suit today, get fit and support a fantastic cause at the same time.

Team LPA were lucky enough to recently work on a shoot with Olympic gold medalist and British icon Victoria Pendleton for Halfords.
Shot by Michael Heffernan in and around the beautiful snow-covered Ragley Hall, Victoria looks a pro as a model! Hair and make-up looks were created by Claire Louise whilst super stylist Alice Timms provided the wardrobe. Though the whole team was great, brownie points definitely go to Alice: Victoria loved this coat so much she wore it to accept her CBE from the Queen the following day! Here is a taster of the shoot.

In addition to his fabulous stills photography, Michael Heffernan has been working on some great moving image work. Following on from ‘The Challenge’, Michael’s latest work ‘Sweetheart’ is equally gripping.
Michael says ‘Sweetheart tells the story of a woman who has chosen a path in life that frequently leads to mental torment and physical damage. In her most difficult moments she depends on a man who obsessively pushes her to follow his demands’.

Michael Heffernan was recently commissioned by Urdang Academy in central London to document their fabulous students in training.
One of the UK’s leading performing arts schools, Urdang Academy runs many of the best Dance and Musical Theatre classes in the country. Renowned for it’s cultural diversity and cutting-edge approaches to teaching, Michael was not short of fascinating performers to spend time with.
Shot over the course of three weeks, Michael said “it was a pleasure to record this group of dedicated performers as they were guided by the skilled team of Urdang’s teaching staff”.
